We are still considering this feature for future releases, and will continue to update the status when it changes.

We acknowledge the customer demand for Private Channels and have been hard at work on it. Private Channels is currently in preview with a select group of customers. We expect to release the feature to the public later this Fall, and will update here when we are starting to roll out to all customers. Great news that this is officially planned, can we have that on the roadmap and details of when to expect this as for us we will be starting to move more to teams but cannot flick the switch for probably 50% of the company as we are using the Skype to SfB integration that this will resolve.
This is currently in internal testing rings at Microsoft, and the feature team is targeting a release to the public in early Q2.

We are working on a better experience in Teams when a user is not connected to the internet. No timeline to share at this point, but we will keep you posted.
