Multi-window chat is in testing. I hope to have great news regarding rollout to the public rings soon.
We are working to ensure that multi-window and other future multi-window experiences are of the highest quality when they release.

One of my main challenges with using Teams is that all of the activities it encompasses; chat, meetings, phone calls, file access, etc. are all shared by a single window pane. This makes it difficult to collaborate, multitask, and use the tool effectively. For example, it isn’t uncommon to be in a Teams meeting and need to maintain chat conversations with the group and with other individuals simultaneously while also needing to find and link files on other sites, all why needing to be able to glance back at the presentation on screen.
In the current UI model, the need to constantly minimize and maximize activities, as well as the difficulties in navigating from one activity to another from different activities is buggy, time-consuming, inefficient, and saps productivity. In Outlook, for example, I can have the calendar, email, tasks, and contacts all open in separate windows at the same time. And easily switch between the function I need when I need it. Or run them each full screen in multi-monitor configurations. In spite of the value of Teams, this is one of the main reasons I prefer other and separate apps.Peter Cooper supported this idea ·
