At least add 'out of office' or the ability for admins to create custom entries for status updates that users can select - since some organizations might want different terms.
Some statuses can't even be manually selected like 'in a call' when in an active Teams meeting. That would also be useful

Performance has been and continues to be a big focus area for Teams. One main area we have made improvements in is responsiveness for the most frequent user actions of switching between Chat, Channel, and Activity. We are also focused on reducing resource consumption and application load time. More improvements are on the way.
Office of mostly Macs and on each, Teams consumes 2-3G of RAM. Crazy
+1 more vote. This is a major issue for us too. For the same reasons that have already been stated. I wish we were more aware of the UserVoice to research the hangups and issues others have before using Teams.
