We’re fixing bugs identified in the comments, and other user reports we’ve received around markdown, but we’ve decided we’re not going to fundamentally change our markdown support.

This is the first time we’ve declined a request, and it didn’t come easily. We weighed this against other important features we’re working on to deliver and we had to make some tough choices.

Really appreciate your understanding on this, and please feel free to ping me if you have any questions, complaints, or need to rant.

Every time I go to edit a Wiki page I'm reminded how awful the experience is. Half the time it doesn't know when I'm trying to edit, trying to copy and paste from other sources results in clicking in and out of the section multiple times before it decides to respond, formatting is limited and frustrating, code syntax highlighting is nonexistent...

There really doesn't seem to be a good reason to keep the editor version over swapping in actual Markdown support. PLEASE reconsider.

This being declined is not a good sign for the future of Teams. Microsoft pretends to be open and willing to accept feedback, but only if it aligns with their current plans. The current "Markdown Support" is easily the most frustrating thing I've used in Teams, and the number of votes on this request show I'm far from alone. It would be far simpler to implement actual markdown support than continue to fix issues with the current editor, and yet, here we are.

I previously commented on how this would give Teams a one-up on Slack... Turns out I was wrong. Slack has this feature as part of their Enterprise-Grid plan. There's no reason Teams shouldn't also work out something similar. Teams has so many other features that are better for enterprise, why not this?

Subchannels would be awesome for things like bots and connectors so they don't clutter up the main conversation. Most of our channels are organized by project, and with apps and connectors posting things about Planner Tasks, approvals, etc., it can get pretty messy. I agree to not add nested teams, but sub-channels would be a one-up on Slack. Especially if you could manage notifications separately.

    Hey everyone,

Thank you for your feedback! We support adding multiple pages to a single Wiki tab by choosing the “Create a new page” button on the bottom of the Table of Contents pane. This pane can be opened by tapping the menu button on the top-left of the Wiki.

We’re working to make the Table of Contents easily accessible on larger displays so that this option will be just a single tap away!

    Thanks,
    Mark

Performance has been and continues to be a big focus area for Teams. One main area we have made improvements in is responsiveness for the most frequent user actions of switching between Chat, Channel, and Activity. We are also focused on reducing resource consumption and application load time. More improvements are on the way.

As we announced at Microsoft Ignite 2019 this morning, we are excited to confirm that Multi-window capabilities are coming to Microsoft Teams, and will start rolling out to the public ring early next year!

    Thanks,
    Alex & the Teams team
