This item is still on the backlog.
We’re currently working on defining a compact mode experience. I will post more details when we have more to share.
Imre: You can try this: https://userstyles.org/styles/165569/slack-teams
You can reskin the *web* version yourself using browser plugins like Stylus, and find some good free skins on userstyles.org. Mine, that makes Teams look more like Slack, is here: https://userstyles.org/styles/165569/slack-teams - it's not perfect, and it only works on the web version, but it you have to use Teams it at least makes it bearable :D
@Ozyilm - Suphatra left Microsoft, you're not likely to hear anything from her
I've made some updates to my Stylus/Stylish (browser plugins) styles for Teams, I can't post a screenshot because I only have access to my company Teams channels and, well, they wouldn't like that :D Let me just say it's looking a lot more like Slack and a lot less like teams. Feel free to check it out here and let me know if anything needs tweaking!
Nice work @Emmanuel! I copied and modified your CSS and left what I hope were appropriate attributions to your work.
I condensed things a bit more, added avatars back in but shrank them a bit, and made the "Reply" spam only show up on hoverover... or, uh, sometimes you have to click the message you want to reply to :D
That last part is a bit buggy, but it all seems to work:
Yeah, we need something similar, we're getting log events from different environments, and every time we add a message to the thread for the log it moves it to the bottom of the page. Makes it hard to keep track of when an event happened or if it has been addressed
Clippy is flattered by all the attention but plans to continue his retirement.
How many votes will it take to bring Clippy (stickers) back?
@Alex - if you think people are being sarcastic about wanting Clippy back, you are probably wrong. Clippy was so bad that he became a meme and a real part of the culture. Whoever created the pack obviously knew this, removing the Clippy pack is removing one of the rare bits of relevant cultural fun left in Teams.
We acknowledge the customer demand for Private Channels and have been hard at work on it. Private Channels is currently in preview with a select group of customers. We expect to release the feature to the public later this Fall, and will update here when we are starting to roll out to all customers. We appreciate all the feedback you have provided to us on this forum and thank you for your patience.
Feature team thanks you for the feedback but it isn’t truly actionable.
More concrete suggestions are recommended such as, “Please create a more compact chat layout” or “Increase density of the UI text elements”
