Hi — My apologies for the delay in updating this item. We rolled out a fix a year ago for a specific issue of status changing to away in Teams when you were still active on the device. We thought this had fixed the “incorrect status” issue. From comments below, it sounds like people are still seeing issues.

If you are still having issues, it would be super helpful if you can capture logs by typing Ctrl + Shift + Alt + 1, and send the file from your downloads folder along with device info and detailed repro steps to teamsml@microsoft.com.

    Thanks all!

Once support for Windows 10 native notifications is released, users who choose to use Windows notifications will be able to utilize Windows OS specific settings for the length of time to display notifications. Mac does not have an OS specific setting, so will not have the support.

What about a system tray icon? Nothing I do can stop the OneNote system tray icon that I don't want to see, but Teams doesn't even have one? The only thing consistent about Microsoft UI standards is that Microsoft never follows them.

I want to have the option for Teams on the taskbar to flash and continue flashing until I select it when there are new message. I need this option.

Unread counts on the chat and teams icons, and at every level below in both the 'Recent' and 'Contacts' lists.

This is BASIC stuff that should not have been missed before the product was released.

This item is still under review by the feature team. I have no details as to when a decision might happen.

I am missing messages all over the place, because Teams requires me to navigate to where they are before it shows them to me. How do I know I'm supposed to go look for them if there's no organized notification of them? This needs to be across the board. If I'm in chat->Recent, I should see names highlighted with a new message count. If I'm in chat->Contacts, they should all likewise be highlighted with a new message count.

When I click between Teams, Chat, and Meetings, I come back to the Teams window, and random teams have been collapsed. The PRIMARY team that I use the most is collapsed. Other teams are expanded and list the channels. There have been decades of usability studies showing that people can't deal with too many levels of menus and you need to flatten things, but Teams differentiates between Chat, Teams, and Meetings then into Recent/Contacts, or into channels. When I open Slack, I have a nice list of all the channels followed by all the DMs. It's flat. It's scrollable, and it doesn't waste space or my time trying to dig for what I need to see.

Due to a priority shift this request has slipped to the backlog. I hate to bring bad news. I will continue to provide the feature team your feedback and votes.
Hopefully this will move back up in the queue soon.

I would prefer the option to remove chat threading entirely. We've already organized different channels for our teams to use to chat. We want those to be in time-order, not threaded.

We are now preparing for the roll out of Tasks in Teams which will integrate additional features integrating To-Do and Planner. This includes additional list views that also extend to tabs in teams. Further announcements about additional integration in our overall Tasks coherence effort will follow.

You can follow the rollout via our Roadmap item: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=57213. To see a preview of the experience, please visit https://youtu.be/rTATVGroEsQ.

if you have an existing post that you want to show in a different channel, you can edit the message and cross-post. This will add the top-level post to the different channel, but will not include the full set of replies. We will keep this request in mind as we evolve the cross-posting feature in the future and update if the status changes.

Details on cross posting can be found here: https://support.office.com/article/cross-post-a-channel-conversation-in-teams-9c1252a3-67ef-498e-a7c1-dd7147b3d295.

Adding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:

    - Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook

    - Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams

    - Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook

See this post for more information:

The option to “discard” suggested contacts in your chat list is rolling out to users. We will be making further changes to make suggested contacts more relevant for new users in the future as well, so marking as partially completed. Thanks for your patience with this one.

There are SO many items related to 'Make it more like Slack'. The entire layout of Teams is headache and eye strain-inducing. One sentence in chat should take up one line. Timestamp, User Name, Text. PERIOD. Get rid of the multi-line format with text below the username. Get rid of user pictures/icons/initials. Let us change font and color settings for incoming messages. Let us set the background color. let us resize/reposition the contact list. Let us have a combined interface for user chat and group chat. Let us hide and/or reposition the icons down the left side of the window. Reduce distractions. Let us left-align everything so our eyes don't have to bounce back & forth. Give us more control so that we can set this thing we are forced to use 8 hours or more a day to be more comfortable for us individually. Fix your UI!!

    partially done  ·  Warren responded

The zoom feature has released to the public ring. Using CRTL + or CTRL – zoom in and out on a Windows PC.

I need to correct the information I provided last month about MAC. It appears the MAC version is still in testing and hasn’t yet gone out to the public. It is “In Testing” but will be coming to the public soon!

The item tracking this specific update can be found at: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/admin/v3/suggestions/16933183/activity

There now is a UI element that tells you your current zoom level and a Setting within the UI to preset your zoom preference.

Since the zoom feature could very well cover the vast majority of user needs, based on the majority of comments and feedback, I will flag this item as Partially Done.

Thank you for all the feedback and support!
