You can create add a hyperlink to any text, which will allow you to avoid massive links being copied into the chat/channels.
Expand the compose box by clicking the icon “A” with a pencil just below your compose line. Once in the expanded view you can create a link by clicking the icon that looks like a chain at the top of the compose box.You can also highlight your text and use this function to change your selected text into a hyperlink. Once the hyperlink dialog opens update the link location and modify your text if you so desire.

Another problem with the deep links being so long is that if you post them in a conversation, the long URL can easily overwhelm any comment you make. Teams will even hide your comment behind a see more link because the link is so long.

If you are hitting the document library of 20,000 items please try this solution.
It is a known issue for OneNote.
(Let’s try that again with the correct link :) ) https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/onenotedev/2016/09/11/onenote-api-calls-fail-with-a-large-number-of-items-in-a-sharepoint-document-library/If you are experiencing something else, please let me know the error messages you are seeing in the comments below.

Warren's work around only works if you are sharing into a Teams chat channel. What if I'm sharing it somewhere else? There's no reason for it to be so long.
