We acknowledge the customer demand for Private Channels and have been hard at work on it. Private Channels is currently in preview with a select group of customers. We expect to release the feature to the public later this Fall, and will update here when we are starting to roll out to all customers. We appreciate all the feedback you have provided to us on this forum and thank you for your patience.

try this instead  ·  Warren responded

Updating the status to “Try this instead” and have added the clarification that after 30 days the name is once again available.

The reason for this decision was that Channels can be restored 30 days after being deleted. During this time, we intentionally don’t support creating a channel with the same name. After the 30 days, the name is available.

You can workaround this by restoring a deleted channel, renaming it, and then deleting the channel again. The previous name is then available for use.

This workaround has already been mentioned in the comments and if an immediate reuse of a Channel Name is required, this is the recommended solution.

Thanks for clarifying. It makes sense but should be explained in the delete dialog within Teams.

Are you aware that folders are not sorted by the last change date of content within the folder, but only by "folder last change date" (which I think is "create date?) and therefore does not apply any value from a user perspective?

Scenario: User opens Files tab and wants a quick overview of last changed files and files within folders. Folders are sorted by the folders last change date and files are shown below folders, sorted by files last change date. User expects to see folders which content recently has been updated/changed.

If this doesn't make sense, please ask me to specify :-)
    /Peter

Thanks for following our suggestion to vote this up on SharePoint. It worked! SharePoint has confirmed that they have already started working on this and I’ll be getting an ETA from them after the holidays. -Suphatra
