on the backlog  ·  Warren responded

I apologize, there had been come miscommunication with regards to this topic.

The good news is that this item has not been declined! It has actually been approved by the feature team and is now “On the Backlog”.

I’ll keep this thread updated as we move through the development.

we have this!  ·  Warren responded

You can create add a hyperlink to any text, which will allow you to avoid massive links being copied into the chat/channels.
Expand the compose box by clicking the icon “A” with a pencil just below your compose line. Once in the expanded view you can create a link by clicking the icon that looks like a chain at the top of the compose box.

You can also highlight your text and use this function to change your selected text into a hyperlink. Once the hyperlink dialog opens update the link location and modify your text if you so desire.

I agree with many who have commented - you do NOT have this. Novice paste/post huge multiline links - AND teams adds the link preview box to the post as well. Shorter links would be that long links pasted into Teams would be truncated to something like "This is a long l..." and you only see the multi-line super long link when you hover over the link or something like that.

Also, for the more advanced users who DO insert *hyperlink* links, try the CTRL+K keyboard shortcut next time!

This feature is still being reviewed by the feature team. No decision has been made yet. I’ll keep you posted.

I think what the poster actually wants is to be able to filter/view "Conversations" in the Feed - just view all conversations, sorted by latest update (and no duplicate entries), regardless if they are private or from some channel in some team.

Hi folks, we are collecting feedback on this so we can determine prioritization and user need.

Please comment in the thread below about how this affects you, how you currently add members, and who you think would benefit from this in your organization.

    Thank you!

Top use case: copying a bunch of names from an Outlook email or calendar. For me, this is even more important that it works when creating a new group chat - but I suppose it's the same code used to add users to a group chat and adding users to a team.

We acknowledge the customer demand for Private Channels and have been hard at work on it. Private Channels is currently in preview with a select group of customers. We expect to release the feature to the public later this Fall, and will update here when we are starting to roll out to all customers. We appreciate all the feedback you have provided to us on this forum and thank you for your patience.

I can confirm that I see people replying to the latest post by creating a new post all the time. This is not limited to novice or non-technical users, so this clearly is a UX issue that needs to be addressed.

There should be a more distinct separation between replying and starting a new discussion.
    - maybe the reply text field of the most recent post should be expanded by default
    - maybe the start new conversation should not be a text box expanded by default

Right now, people (intend to) reply more often than start new conversations. So replying should be more intuitive than starting a new conversation, in term of what is the most common use case, I think. Right now it's more intuitive to start a new conversation than to reply to a existing one, so much so, that people start new conversations when they intend to reply. The UX is so unsupportive of this that even experienced Teams users by mistake reply in the "start a new discussion" field, they are just experts enough to cover their tracks and delete the new conversation after copying the reply and then replying as they intended to.
