This is crazy that this functionality is not in there. Just got off the phone with an ms support engineer where I shared my screen and walked thru the steps. He thought it was supported with Chrome because it had the icon but just greyed out. He said I probably didn't have the most up to date version of Chrome, but then when I pushed him to tell me what version is supported, he researched more and came across this thread and conceded that it's not supported at all. He also looked at the roadmap and said that this isn't even in the roadmap yet.

This is basic functionality that is crucial for any web conferencing tool. All of the basic tools have it: Zoom, Goto/citrix, webex, even Free Conferene Call. And they all have it without requiring the guest of the meeting to download any desktop app. Companies interact with people outside their company every single minute of every single day. You can't assume every other company has their employees using MS Teams with the desktop app.

It's also embarrassing that guests can't even join meetings unless they have Chrome or Edge. How are Mozilla/Safari just not supported? Again, all the other products are browser-agnostic...but I guess that's a completely separate topic
