I’m excited to announce that a new Large Gallery view, with the ability to see up to 49 participant in a meeting, is coming soon to Teams! Large Gallery will release as an optional (preview) feature that can be turned on at any time during a meeting. Large Gallery has a flexible design and will deliver a network-optimized client video experience that works on multiple device categories. During the preview, the Large Gallery experience will be available for desktop Teams client on both Windows & Mac, as well as for mobile Teams client (iOS, Android) users.

Large Gallery will begin rolling out with the new pop-out meetings experience for desktop clients in early July, and we are targeting full availability including mobile clients for iOS and Android by early September.

For more details, check out the Roadmap item: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=65333.

    Thanks,
    Alex & the Teams team

The team is happy to announce that this functionality is now available through the Presence Graph API which is now in public Beta! We have additional functionality planned for the API so please keep checking back for updates.

Please note that this is a beta version of the API and may be subject to change. Use of these APIs in production applications is not supported.

    - Online documentation: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/resources/presence?view=graph-rest-beta

    Enjoy!

As stated in the last update, the ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is being implemented in stages for Desktop. Faster tenant switching functionality on the Windows client has been rolled out to the public ring fully, and Mac will begin rolling out soon. Work is in progress on cross-tenant notification improvements, and support for multiple accounts on desktop will follow. We’ll keep you posted!

Note: The ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is supported on iOS & Android today.

    Thanks,
    Alex & the Teams team

Looks like this is getting there - you can now see the status message of someone by hovering over their account picture in chat or in the contact list.
However, I can't find any documentation on how to set this via the api
Anyone know how to do this?

Looks like the status option is showing up now. Select your username and you can update the status and the nice thing is you can set it for a timed period. No documentation on how to update this with an api though. Not sure how you see someone elses status though

I use this extensively with Skype4Business to update my status with what I am working on, whether I am on lunch, away for a break etc.
A Powershell script automatically grabs the client and subject of a helpdesk ticket and then updates my Skype4Business status.
The lack of this status in Teams prevents us really adopting Teams as our primary messaging. This morning I received notification that Skype was going to be migrated over to Teams, but this functionality is very important for us to have so we'll probably be delaying the migration until this shows up.
There is also a suggestion at https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/34061431-fun-custom-status-features which should probably be merged into this suggestion/request

Same here but only on random teams. Some of them work, some of them don't.
When I click Request Access I get taken to the sharepoint page at which point I can open the Onenote online or in Onenote instead.

@Rebecca - you should be able to request access in the same way and get access - either online or with Onenote instead.
