Thank you for your votes and comments on this feature. The team is in the process of finalizing designs for deleting private chat threads. I will update as we have more progress to share.

This is ridiculous, In Skype for Business you can globally set not to capture any conversations. We have a legal requirement under the right to be forgotten in GDPR to remove information on request and indeed we have to justify why we are holding this information. I don't think saying we have no option because Microsoft say we can't delete it for "reasons" is going to cut it.

The ability to globally turn of Chat History as can be achieved with currently with Skype for Business would be a good option. Conversation if stored, come under Freedom of Information Act requests and also causes us issues with GDPR for the right to be forgotten.

This could be a complete deal breaker for us. We currently require all Skype chats not to be saved and have no chat history available. This should be an option as it is in Skype for Business. I would imagine several companies would be in the same position.
Yes this totally makes sense. In these times I am surprised Microsoft stick with "Simpsons" yellow and don't allow for the person to reflect their individuality
