As we announced at Microsoft Ignite 2019 this morning, we are excited to confirm that Multi-window capabilities are coming to Microsoft Teams, and will start rolling out to the public ring early next year!

    Thanks,
    Alex & the Teams team

Hi, so we're nearly halfway into 2019. Having Teams do everything in one window is still a HUGE pain point. Meetings, teams channels, chats should all be able to be in separate windows and/or tabs so that users can switch between tasks without losing their place. Browsers have had this functionality for over 15 years. What's the holdup here? There only so many icon changes that can feasibly take priority over something as important as UX.

One the main reasons for using native notifications, or something that interacts well with them, is that Teams notifications appear below and are obscured by long-lived native notifications, making them near useless.

we have this!  ·  Suphatra responded

You can search inside a specific channel by going to the channel, putting your search term in the search bar, then pressing enter on your keyboard. Then, you’ll see below the search bar a little tab that says “In this channel”. If you click that, you’ll see all the search results for the term in that specific channel.

If you have any questions, just tweet me at @skprufo.

    > The tab that says "In this channel" no longer appears to be present in the current version of Teams.

I am also experiencing this. The "WE HAVE THIS" solution is not (or is no longer) accurate.

I'm in an enterprise that sees wide use of Teams. An all-channel search is nearly useless, as it returns far too many results, especially for common words.

    We need per-channel search pronto.

Agreed. The current location of saved items is well nigh undiscoverable, compared to the rest of the items on the sidebar.

This would also declutter the chat contact view, making it easier to see whom I'm selecting to chat to. Right now, the clutter makes my eye read each entry; a cleaner sidebar would allow for faster, more accurate scanning.
