The engineering team is continuing to work on adding support for multiple accounts on desktop clients. We will first launch support for 1 work/school account and 1 personal account so users can enjoy Teams for work and personal side-by-side. Windows and MacOS. Support for multiple work accounts is still being worked on and will come at a later date.

You can track status via the roadmap here: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=68845.

    Thanks!

As a freelancer, I work with multiple organizations and have more than 3 work accounts.
Right now I can only log in on Teams with 1 work and 1 personal account.

Please let me log on to more than 3 work accounts so I can easily manage and communicate with different teams in different organizations quickly.

We are in 20201, and guest users cannot share or attach files via chat window? It's Crazy.

The funny thing is that users can share attach files using the Free Team version, but not the paid version.

As I understood it is due to the lack of releases for guests in Onedrive. How about letting Guests see a specific folder in OneDrive, but cannot access to all other company's folders?

C'mon Microsoft, please set this as a high priority, we are working with lots of Guest users who are Freelancers and service providers, we need this must feature to collaborate more effective and efficient

I can confirm that the private channels are now displaying on Android apps.
I think the team has fixed this issue.

try this instead  ·  Warren responded

Updating the status to “Try this instead” and have added the clarification that after 30 days the name is once again available.

The reason for this decision was that Channels can be restored 30 days after being deleted. During this time, we intentionally don’t support creating a channel with the same name. After the 30 days, the name is available.

You can workaround this by restoring a deleted channel, renaming it, and then deleting the channel again. The previous name is then available for use.

This workaround has already been mentioned in the comments and if an immediate reuse of a Channel Name is required, this is the recommended solution.

Hi, maybe you can give us 2 options when deleting a Channel or Team.

    1. Delete immediately without the chance to restore it
    2. Delete and move it to Trash so we can restore it after 30 or 90 days etc...

If MS can give us the option to see all channel names in the trash and we have the option to delete the channels in the Trash ourselves, then we can create a new channel with the same name immediately instead of waiting for 30+ days.

By this way, we can easily manage our channels due to the fact that currently there is no way to switch channels between public and private. See thread here https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/38974249-make-public-channel-private

For instance, if we want to delete a Public channel name MARKETING and create a new Private channel with the same name MARKETING, then we don't have to wait for 30+ days before we can create a new MARKETING channel with the same name. Cos we Teams admin have more control of how we wanted the TEAMS system will be managed and operated within our own Organization instead of relying upon the Default TEAMS system which Microsoft gave us.

What about using number ID for the channel as a reference?
Let say each channel has its own channel ID.
In this way we can create 2 or more channels that have the same name MARKETING, every time we create a new MARKETING channel, the system knows that it has a different ID number. It's the same process as personal ID, there are many persons in the US have the name Bill Gate, but each of them has its own personal ID :)

Thank you for your feedback! The team has reviewed this request and has added it to our backlog for both Standard (Public) to Private and Private to Standard (Public) channel conversion. We will share an update as soon as it’s available.

Yes please do give us this option where we can convert a public channel to private and vice versa.

Right now the TEAM has this functionality, I don't know why Microsoft doesn't let us do this with the Channel too.

I have a bunch of Public channels in different Teams, now I want to make them private but it's impossible. The only way I can do is delete those private channels and create new channels with the same name again, and make them private which is very inconvenience.

The stupid thing is that after a channel is deleted, the system doesn't let me create a new channel with the same name as the deleted ones. I am wondering if anyone in this community also has the same problem as well?

Thank you for your feedback! We are updating this as “Partialy Done” as our first step to solving for pinned posts has been released! Pinned posts allows users from a team to pin a message for everyone in the channel to be able to easily reference. While any message can be pinnable, we expect our users to use this feature to pin information like channel guidelines or important announcements. We know this doesn’t solve all pinning scenarios, and that there is still a need to make this easier for users to find, especially within the message list. We will share another update as soon as it is available.

We are now preparing for the roll out of Tasks in Teams which will integrate additional features integrating To-Do and Planner. This includes additional list views that also extend to tabs in teams. Further announcements about additional integration in our overall Tasks coherence effort will follow.

You can follow the rollout via our Roadmap item: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=57213. To see a preview of the experience, please visit https://youtu.be/rTATVGroEsQ.
