Thanks to everyone who volunteered for testing the Office 365 group calendar. The TAP team will be reaching out as we are closer to being ready.
+1 - any updates? I have very frustrated users who just want a calendar - any calendar - that shows things relevant to the Team.
A calendar function for a team with guests was one of the first questions I got as we prepare to roll-out Teams. How much could be achieved by using Planner? Guest access to planner looks great.
This feature request is now actively being worked upon. As we move through the development process, I will post an new updates to this topic.
Please keep the votes and feedback coming in. Your feedback is shared with the feature team every month.
+1 for this feature - so confused that it downloads to a local folder with no options to change this behaviour. A modern save as dialog box is urgently needed - and that plays nice on Windows and Mac.
+1 for flexibility - but this may not be the best option - sometimes Yammer, sometimes SharePoint - I don't know if a public channel for updates makes so much sense, wrong tool.
+1 for anything which adds flexibility - but who owns this shared channel? and when can other people see the channel or not? I would not like to see 100's of shared channels in my Teams view..
+1 yes nice feature - but... there needs so be an owner of the shared channel, correct? how does this compare with allowing people to join a specific channel and not a whole team? things could get confusing
+1 for this feature - flexibility is important. But, also good to know who has permission where - so this needs to be done carefully to avoid confusion i.e. a guest to one channel won't be able to see a file in another channel.
We are working on this feature, and will update again as we get closer to releasing.
Our company also needs proper and correct attendance info for Teams meetings. This is available from Teams Live Events - but we cannot run Live Events for every meeting we have.
Agreed, an automatic record option - that could be set as a default by tenant, user or meeting - would be very welcome. There are many Teams meetings that do not automatically need recordings, but equally there are many kinds of meetings - advisory panels, boards, etc. - that really need to be recorded by default.
Agreed, there is a use-case where sensitive information has its natural home inside a Team, but not all Team members should have access. Folder-level protection would be best.
+1 photo sharing within a Team is very important, instead of having photos locked away in individual user accounts. Integration with OneDrive, Sharepoint and Teams for photo libraries - including album, tags, etc.
Adding support for anonymous users and guest registration is on the backlog. We’ll update when we have more details.
Our company is committed to reducing our flight travel - so we need excellent e-meeting solutions. Teams works great, but more control is needed so we can support 360 degree cameras and similar professional video conferencing devices.
And... this is an international standard:
"Monday is the day of the week between Sunday and Tuesday. According to the international standard ISO 8601 it is the first day of the week." (Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monday)
Our company users find this very confusing, that the week starts on Sunday. Please fix this ASAP - either copy settings from Office 365 account, Outlook, or allow the setting to be made in the Teams app. We need this feature.
Breakout room functionality is planned at this point.
We are still using Adobe Connect and Zoom to support break-out rooms. Feature parity is a great idea!
Our company is still using Adobe Connect and Zoom for break-out rooms. The same feature in Teams would be great.
We need a nickname feature in Teams - with the admin option to enable or disable. For example, our office locations include Thailand, where everyone uses nicknames as their work names - but not as their first name or last name.
This is a nice-to-have feature, to resend the invitation to external guests. Current work-around of removing and adding back an external user is not ideal.
We are happy to announce this feature is released on Windows. We are working on support for Mac and will update as we have more details.
