A lot of times I need to demonstrate different behaviors with an image or animated GIF. Without the ability to put those images into the context of text around it, it's very hard to make my point clear. A simple function such as this would enable that.

Thank you for your continued feedback, we have not forgotten about this ask. The feature remains on our backlog. We will share an update as soon as one is available.

In the meantime, you can try using the keyboard shortcut to toggle mute (Ctrl+Shift+M). For more information on keyboard shortcuts, please visit https://support.microsoft.com/office/keyboard-shortcuts-for-microsoft-teams-2e8e2a70-e8d8-4a19-949b-4c36dd5292d2.

Upvoted this request. Some elaboration on the issue: when you attach a file to a chat that is an animated GIF, Teams displays the GIF as a small preview, about 240 pixels high. With most images, you can click on the preview and it will enlarge to its native size without having to leave Teams. However, the only ways to view attached animated GIFs at full size are to right-click on the preview and choose either 1) "Open online", which will open a new browser window to view the GIF, or 2) "Download", which is even worse because first you have to find where Teams downloaded the GIF, then open it in a new application. Slack has the ability to expand and play animated GIFs within the application.

This is especially critical when trying to share GIFs that show recorded workflows on a PC, so the GIFs are often tall and wide to fit an entire application window (or more) within the video. These GIFs are often useless without being able to enlarge them.
