Channels are amazing and we have some that last forever, but for the most part, we love creating new channels which have a very specific focus and timeline. These give a dedicated space for that specific topic/discussion and are really helpful.

What is not helpful is not having the ability to later archive these channels :-(

Thank you for your feedback! We are updating this as “Partialy Done” as our first step to solving for pinned posts has been released! Pinned posts allows users from a team to pin a message for everyone in the channel to be able to easily reference. While any message can be pinnable, we expect our users to use this feature to pin information like channel guidelines or important announcements. We know this doesn’t solve all pinning scenarios, and that there is still a need to make this easier for users to find, especially within the message list. We will share another update as soon as it is available.

Folks, I think I have found a workaround, can others try and confirm.

    1. Go to the message in Private Channel & Hover over the message and click the three dots at top corner

    2. From that menu select "Share to Outlook"

    3. In the Window that opens, scroll to the bottom, find the text "Go to Teams". Now hit Ctrl+K to edit the hyperlink

    4. In the Link window that opens, copy the "Web address (URL)"

See attached image. This did seem to work for me, but would like to hear from others.

Please, allow me to copy the link.
It's super useful to copy the link and stick it in OneNote or an email at times.

Of course, if they are not part of the Private channel, they can be shown a generic error message.

Thank you for your feedback. The team is currently planning for a profile editing experience for Guests that will include changing profile images as well as updating display names. We will share an update as soon as one is available.

Want to +1 post by R_Sprujit. There is a workaround for doing this. Certainly awkward (so the feature is still needed), but for those willing to step through some steps it is doable. See https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-365-pnp-blog/change-your-own-profile-picture-as-a-guest-in-microsoft-teams/ba-p/2257434

So glad to see this moved to Planning. Thank You! This is really going to help everyone collaborate across (company) boundaries. The "Guests" are often as crucial as any company employee. Would be nice to be able to
    - Change Name
    - Add Photo
    - And may be an Admin setting to remove the "Guest" Suffix added to all Guest Accounts

This is the new reality of the workplace, we work collaboratively across company and international borders. What Microsoft terms as "Guests" are often key contributors in projects.

They must be treated as equal citizens (or nearly so).
Changing their profile picture would be a small but crucial step towards that.

The engineering team is continuing to work on adding support for multiple accounts on desktop clients. We will first launch support for 1 work/school account and 1 personal account so users can enjoy Teams for work and personal side-by-side. Windows and MacOS. Support for multiple work accounts is still being worked on and will come at a later date.

You can track status via the roadmap here: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=68845.

    Thanks!

This is definitely a stumbling block for our users. The fact that it works on Mobile but not on Desktop actually ends up confusing them even more. Here is an actual message from one of our users

"I do not understand the principles that Microsoft use regarding multiple accounts. My challenge is that I have an Office account at work and a personal one that is supposed to be separated from work but microsoft somehow connects the 2. So..,,,.I was able to see all Teams activities on my android but not on any of my laptops (work or personal)"

It seems the Desktop can Switch Accounts now...Is anyone else seeing this on Microsoft Teams Desktop?

We're looking to migrate from Slack to Teams. But this feature would be super useful!

Slack makes it look so easy. It feels they were designed with this in mind. In real scenarios folks across companies often collaborate freely. Microsoft Teams is a promising tool, especially with the tight integration with O365. But it seems it's designed with the old school approach of everyone sits in a single large company. That's not the reality anymore. This feature would really move things in the right direction.

I was attempting to assign Custom Messasing Policy to Users. And while I can easily assign it to internal users; I am unable to assign it to any External users.

Modern teams often have users working together from different organizations.
We should have the ability to apply Custom Messaging Policies to Guest Users, the same way we do for external users.

Great news! We just started working on this for the AUDIO portion. We are still trying to determine feasibility for the video portion of your request.

Skype has that too. I especially love sending quick audio messages via Skype. Audio messages are lightweight (much less bandwidth than video) and can be so much better than typing
