We are getting closer, and are still working thru some bugs, but hope to release this as part of a Public Preview pack in early 2021! (Windows 10 released with the December 2020 pack this week)
You can learn more about the new Microsoft Teams Public Preview program here: https://aka.ms/TeamsPublicPreview, and Teams administrators can find documentation to manage which users will see the Public Preview option here: https://aka.ms/TeamsPublicPreviewAdmin

I hope this native notification support will enable me to adjust what triggers the badge icon (red dot with number in it) in the dock. As it is, I get the badge icon for EVERY little thing in my activity, which is extremely distracting. I'd prefer it only have a badge icon for direct chats and @mentions of myself. Thank you

Adding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:
- Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook
- Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams
- Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook

Please don't implement this idea. Teams is already a mess of bloat. Work on usability and flexibility improvements before throwing Outlook into the mix. Teams is already becoming a hodgepodge skin over other products that aren't well integrated, which is making it unpleasant to use.

I'd love to downvote this. Teams is already bloated enough. Please don't add exchange mail to it too. Focus on messaging, multitenancy, and messaging notifications first! Thank you!

Yes x1000000. I'd also love if Teams used the native notifications on MacOS, so that, for example, Teams shows up as an app in the system-wide Notification settings.
Right now I want to suppress the red dot badge entirely on teams, because it's so distracting from any activity.
Basically make a proper native app Microsoft, come on!

YES! It took me a while to find this request, but this drives me crazy. I'm constantly having to click into Activity to dismiss things I've already seen.

The engineering team is continuing to work on adding support for multiple accounts on desktop clients. We will first launch support for 1 work/school account and 1 personal account so users can enjoy Teams for work and personal side-by-side. Windows and MacOS. Support for multiple work accounts is still being worked on and will come at a later date.
You can track status via the roadmap here: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=68845.
Thanks!

This is still happening for many of us on Macs at my company. Very annoying.

Please email me your logs so I can have the development team investigate.
You can generate logs by using the shortcut CRTL+ALT+SHIFT+1
This will generate a txt file in your Downloads folder starting with the name “MSTeams Diagnostics Log……………”.
Please email the logs to: TEAMSML@microsoft.com and use the Subject line of “OSX client – App Quits”
Thank you!

I have this problem too. Teams is running and I got the prompt. I've been noticing it pop up seemingly every day?
About Teams gives me the following:
You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.0.00.26952. It was last updated on 6/11/18. -

Re: "in testing" update, hallelujah!!
PLEASE please also offer more granular notification settings. It is extremely distracting getting the notification count 'badge' on the app icon in the dock for all things considered 'Activity' by teams. There is stuff that makes sense to have in the Teams Activity Feed but not have any sort of OS-level notification for. For example, in my case specifically, any sort of OS-level notification of activity in channels I follow is distracting. I would like that activity showing up in the activity feed within Teams only.
In other words, as it stands today, I'm always glancing at the Teams dock icon and thinking I have a message when in fact someone has just posted in a channel. I need a feed of channel posts (as exists) but not notifications of them. Hope that makes sense. Everyone on our team is driven crazy by this same thing! Thanks!
