We have a new CIO who is keen to deploy Slack. Without desktop sharing for external/federated users, Teams is useless. We may as well abandon Teams and deploy Slack.

I've got the same concerns. There is no centralized, downloadable manifest of Third-party Apps for Teams. The best I could locate is Appsource - https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/apps?product=office%3Bteams&page=1.

    Good luck

Ability to decouple administrative control from O365 Groups is critical. When can we expect an update to this?

Hi Sherry. I support your request. I am curious about your governance approach and policies for third-party Apps. I/we are struggling to develop policies governing these Apps. It seems unmanageable to consider researching every one of the ~150 Apps that's available in the tenant, and then, as new ones are released research each new App. I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'll check back to see if you've replied.

    John Barnes, Xerox Corporation.

Sorry for the delay on an update on this one! I’m hunting down the status for you and will update once I have it.

Also, if you are interested in participating in testing or surveys for this, just tweet me at @skprufo.

In the article, "Migration and interoperability guidance for organizations using Teams together with Skype for Business," Microsoft explains exactly what you just described. In the "Detailed mode descriptions" section, Islands mode reads, "A single user runs both Skype for Business and Teams side-by-side. This user receives chats initiated in Teams by another user in: 1.) Skype for Business, provided the recipient is homed online and never logged in to Team, and 2.) Teams in all other cases.

Skype/Teams interop to functions as designed, so long as the person using Skype never logs into Teams; If they do, there's no turning back.

This feature request is still on in the backlog. No new updates available at this time.

We are in the midst of our pilot for Teams. This morning, my manager asked me to share a file with her. I promptly dragged the file into the chat window and clicked the submit button. She quickly walked over and asked me why she had to save the file before she could send it as an attachment in Outlook. This feature request certainly makes sense.

The feature team is still reviewing, there is lots of discussion about this item and I hope to have a decision soon.
