The engineering team is continuing to work on adding support for multiple accounts on desktop clients. We will first launch support for 1 work/school account and 1 personal account so users can enjoy Teams for work and personal side-by-side. Windows and MacOS. Support for multiple work accounts is still being worked on and will come at a later date.

You can track status via the roadmap here: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=68845.

    Thanks!

Why is this https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=68845 listed as a solution to this thread? The only people who might have an issue with using work and private teams accounts in parallel are microsoft employees. I do not expect the majority of the powerusers to use teams as their private messenger replacement. A honest answere would be: nobody is working on making multiple work accounts work at the same time and we are working on the new feature which is "work + private account" instead.
At least a workarround as skype was offering where you could run skyp multiple times in parallel with a cmdline switch would be a working solution (assuming the memory consumption is not going through the roof)

Good to hear that this is beeing worked on, however the case that people use teams for private and work is missing the point that was raised here.
The point is that some of us are using teams within their company and we are working with mutiple client organizations which introduced teams as well.So your marketing and sales did a great job there, what is missing is the simple fact that some of us need to work with these companies via teams.
The only possible workarround is using a separate browser for each client and working with multiple clients I am constantly running out of independent browsers to ahve one teams instance up for each client. this is completely leaving asside the massive memory consumption of teams, so my 16GB or memory are constantly at the limit.
So thanks what you are offering here but no thanks. We NEED propper support for multiple work accounts.
Why is there no way to allow running multiple instances of teams like you used to do with Skype are you are still doing wiht onedrive. If you then make sure that shared services are really shared and reduce the memory footprint, then this would be a major step and I cannot believe that this is so difficult to achieve
