The feature team is still reviewing, there is lots of discussion about this item and I hope to have a decision soon.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the feature team has declined this request. The topic will remain open for votes and comments.
Of the two items in this request, #1 is complete and available.
- is still in the works.
This is part of the convergence roadmap – https://skypeandteams.blob.core.windows.net/artefacts/Skype%20for%20Business%20to%20Teams%20Capabilities%20Roadmap.pdf
As more details become available for item #2 I will share them with you.
any updates on this particular Case? Looks like Teams federation with s4b-onprem/s4b-online and Teams is working…
searching for email in cmd bar, and choose search external...
but is it allready possible to have federation with public skype too?

As mentioned in the prior status, the channel limit was raised from 100 to 200.
In the near future a retention limit will be set so you can still go back and reinstate a channel you had deleted. Once the retention period has expired then the channel will get a hard delete which will free up the space and no longer count toward the 200 channel limit.
This will help with some of the issues you have voiced in the comments below.
But I understand many of you wish the limit to be further increased. I will continue to provide your votes and comments to the feature team.
I've tested this now and its more badly than i thougt… i deleted all channels (scripted to add 200 channels) now all the deleted channels are also gone from the "deleted channels list" so right now there are only 5 channels left… 2 live and 3 deleted ones… but still i can't add new channels because team says channel limit is reached!!!! now what?

description is visible in team mgmt, under channels…
what would possibly be great if description is searchable, right now this does not work, only channel name itself is search/findable!
The feature is still being worked upon. Many different changes are going into Teams and will provide a slow but steady pace to our performance increases.
I don’t have any new details at the moment but hope to get some additional feedback in the next several weeks.
Hi everyone! I’m happy to share that we’ve been working on this and are at a point where we need your feedback.
We have designs for this multi-tenant feature and are collecting feedback this week. If you are interested in weighing in on this, keep reading…
If you would be interested in participating please contact the user researcher and generally fabulous coworker of mine, David Quiroz (his email is email@example.com). He will schedule you into a time slot and will be the person to conduct the interview. It would only require 30min of your time and would require signing and NDA.
We are looking for five people to participate in a 1:1 session with the researcher. We need people who currently use Teams with multiple tenants/different companies (at least two).
Thank you in advance for your help!
it is possible to add Ad synced groups to teams… BUT!!! there is no nested group processing, so basically i tested it with a group with 1 user and another group in it... and only the one user has been added to groups…
also this is ah onetime process! so that means the group members looks like to be added one-by-one at a time...
so adding users to the group not automatically adds new users to teams…
right now this is only possibly with automated scripting via teams PowerShell commands (and these are not offically supported as far as i know…)
