Similar requests exists elsewhere in User Voice. Including a bug where members are receiving invitations even when their name has not been included in the Channel meeting details. Need to vote all of these up to get them combined into one.

Microsoft provided a 'workaround' for this which is some PowerShell that needs to be run on each individual TEAM every time a new external user is added to its members list. Yes. EVERY TIME and, to top it off, the script must be run by a Global Admin. Yea, right, our GA is going to want to be in this loop in order to maintain an update, consistent experience for our users and their TEAMS. So, while much effort was made to come up with this workaround, it was utterly useless to us.
They need to fix it, plain and simple.

We are experiencing the same thing. We have spent many months on a ticket with Microsoft asking them to explain why ANYONE would receive an invitation if we didn't explicitly add them to the invite list for a channel meeting....internal or external and their answer is they recognize the inconsistency and inaccuracy of it but that it is that way 'by design' which is a lame answer.
This is clearly a bug that needs fixed. This needs to be voted up for sure but it is obscured by the fact that there are several uservoice entries referring to the same type of problem but worded and titled slightly differently. For example,
Not sure how to get this on their radar and fix list but it needs to be.

In particular, it would be helpful to be able to see a persons schedule for the day, as you can in Skype so that you'd know if they will be available any time that day or not. I don't want to have to pretend to create a meeting just to find that out.

It's unfortunate that there are several user voice entries for this viewpoint/suggestion, and therefore, there isn't a true, sense of the total number who actually think this is a good suggestion. It would be interesting to see what the total is and how much it would grow if all of the entries were combined into one.
Incidentally, rumor has it that channels are to become site collections to accommodate the desire to mimic Slack. Another who new nightmare in the making. If you think folders are confusing and anti-productive....just wait!

Subfoldering eventual obscures the content and can effect Search. It makes so much more sense to make a channel create a library. Could institute the ability for individualized security for the channels, which has been a big request. Metadata and views/filters would actually work.

Rene Steen: your Chrome extension appears to be working for calls started from within the chat window. Thank you.
That leaves my question regarding the call features that are accessible via the phone icon on the left for our users with the assigned phone numbers and all the bells and whistles that go with that. Currently, those features are not visibly available to our users. Can someone shed some light on this please. Thanks!

Users using Chrome with the TEAMS web app (i.e. F1 users) cannot create a call via the phone icon in a chat. If it worked in December as you stated, it doesn't anymore. Now it says 'this doesn't work in this browser' and 'switch to Edge or the desktop app. No more reference to switching to Chrome. I also noticed that the phone icon on the left is not visible in any browser for users with the fully functional call package. Shouldn't it be enabled and functional, at least in Edge? The only time that phone/call icon, on the left, is visible is in the desktop app.
I have Chrome 73.0.3683.103

Can't believe that after all this time of how 'bad' folders are in SharePoint that MS would even use them in such a fundamental way and limit a good significant number of the best features of SP from being exposed directly in TEAMS. Seems to me to be a bit of a brain **** so I must be missing some fabulous overriding advantage that all of a sudden, with TEAMS, makes them a good thing.

We have experienced where we select a subset of members for a channel meeting so that they will receive the invitation in Outlook. We understand that all members can attend if they want to but are choosing to include those who must attend in the meeting's invitee list along with choosing a channel.
What happens is that external (guest) members who were not one of the 'must attend' members are receiving the emailed invitation anyway! The internal members are not, as expected, but the external members are.
We have been on the phone with Microsoft for several months on this because this is a bug that needs to be fixed. Their "fix" was some PowerShell that our Global Admin would have to run everytime a new external user was added as a member to a TEAM....and on a per TEAM basis. Completely not scalable or manageable in order to produce a consistent, accurate experience for our TEAMS users. We couldn't use it.
To get this fixed properly, we need to vote this issue up so spread the word. This issue that we found, Microsoft acknowledged as a problem...enough to put the time and effort into coming up with a 'workaround', however, also said that the erroneous current functionality is that way 'by design' even though it is wrong.
So, if you haven't experienced this exact scenario, know that it can happen and, if you have external users in your TEAMS, it probably will.
There are several Uservoice entries along these lines that need to be combined.
https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/32755690-do-not-invite-entire-team-on-channel-meeting
https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/908686-bug-reports/suggestions/41508604-teams-channel-meetings-invitations-only-send-to-e
Please help to vote these up and draw attention to the fact that their votes should be combined into one uservoice entry.
