This feature is still being reviewed by the feature team. No decision has been made yet. I’ll keep you posted.

As mentioned in the prior status, the channel limit was raised from 100 to 200.

In the near future a retention limit will be set so you can still go back and reinstate a channel you had deleted. Once the retention period has expired then the channel will get a hard delete which will free up the space and no longer count toward the 200 channel limit.

This will help with some of the issues you have voiced in the comments below.
But I understand many of you wish the limit to be further increased. I will continue to provide your votes and comments to the feature team.

We are looking at a use-case for Teams where a channel will represent a "Job", so that all communication and files are stored together in one place. Aside from being able to archive channels "when a job completed and closed", having a 200 channel limit is going to limit our ability to use this. Is there any update on increasing the channel limit?

This would be very helpful in our environment. I suspect that the more we use Teams and get more users at our company using it, some departments may merge or need shared access to specific channels. Being able to move them means I could easily build a new group and move an existing channel (with files/built tab layout/conversations) into it.

Yes this. Our current HelpDesk is web based and doesn’t have a supported app. If it saved the state, I could actually transition to working entirely in Teams. If I need to do something else in Teams in the middle of doing a ticket, it doesn’t save and lose everything I had added to the ticket.

we have this!  ·  Suphatra responded

Just hover over a person’s avator and click the org chart icon in the screen that appears. Or you can click the “Organization” tab in your 1:1 chat with them. If you want to move around your company’s org chart, just click the different people who appear in the chart.
