We are working on a better experience in Teams when a user is not connected to the internet. No timeline to share at this point, but we will keep you posted.

At least the ability to read messages from the last day while offline would be good. This would allow a discussion about tasks which need to be done on a remote PC to be discussed, before connecting to a VPN, which cuts off connection to the teams server. If the chat history could be read offline we would then be able to refer to what was discussed when performing the tasks over the VPN. As it is now, all the information would need to be copied and pasted into notepad, or shared via email or skype for business, all of which can be read offline.
Great performance and user experience remain a topmost priority for us. Application launch time has seen improvements in the recent build. We will continue making improvements across the product including channel to chat switching and overall resource consumption.
The team is working on changes to the desktop client so recently opened tabs are kept in memory, as long as it doesn’t use too much memory.
I will keep you posted as we make further progress.
