We acknowledge the customer demand for Private Channels and have been hard at work on it. Private Channels is currently in preview with a select group of customers. We expect to release the feature to the public later this Fall, and will update here when we are starting to roll out to all customers. We appreciate all the feedback you have provided to us on this forum and thank you for your patience.

Almost a month since the last update. Can we expect another vague update about how you're "working on it" this week?

Microsoft Teams: We're Working on it™

    Anonymous commented  ·

One Thousand One Hundred Forty Nine days since this was requested. It has been the number one requested features for over nearly all of that time yet it is still NOT on the road map.

The intended use case is common enough that without this feature we are unable to follow Microsoft's own best practice for deploying teams: "Try to avoid creating different teams that have the same set of members, as this approach may not provide the desired focus to deliver the project or goal. "

Going on 17500 votes and still waiting, sad, I'm sure many of us need this to work asap..

I think this is getting very crucial , I understand the quality of release matters - however this has taken a longer time to be implemented! Please expedite this

Any ETA at all at this point? A year ago the ETA was "Early 2018" which obviously didn't happen. Should we hope for sometime in 2019? First half? Q2? Anything?

Pleeeeease could we get an update on this? When will it come and how will it work?

    Any update on this?

Most votes on user voice, yet not on the road map. GG Microsoft.

ETA? Sorry I missed the Over 9000 vote day party.

    Private Channels! Please?

    ETA?

    ETA?

    Anonymous commented  ·

What's worse is the extra overhead of groups as well! Literally have six groups in O365 for one department. They just wanted a private chat room... Database Team, Systems and Support, Systems, IT, Web Development, Internal Development. This is ridiculous...

    ETA Please?

    Anonymous commented  ·

This was the second question asked when presenting Microsoft Teams.

Look, you can have a team room with channels!

Can I create a private channel with other supervisors? ...No. Hopefully soon? But I already lost the excitement from the user cause they started thinking of how many private teams they would need to create.

    Please release this soon.

I am here like everyone else. This feature would be awesome as my team use to have HipChat, and to be able to see who is online from who is away without having to click several things to see it, would be more user intuitive. Please have this feature available soon!!!

How long does it take the Teams team to show a simple list of users?

167 days since last update to tell us of no progress
447 days since last update telling us of progress and that it was about 3 months away
    629 days "working on it"
    805 days since request

Yes please. Sucks talking to a rock for months only to then get a 1 sentence update that doesn't tell us anything.

Makes me worry about the lack of development on top voted features.

Performance has been and continues to be a big focus area for Teams. One main area we have made improvements in is responsiveness for the most frequent user actions of switching between Chat, Channel, and Activity. We are also focused on reducing resource consumption and application load time. More improvements are on the way.
