Microsoft has stated in other mediums that Skype for Business BToE connectivity available with Skype-certified phones (like the VVX) will not be supported in Teams.

Instead "Better Together" is the solution in Teams used to address these device pairing use-cases and they have already added support for using native Teams IP Phones as an audio device in Teams meetings. They will also be adding the same support for peer to peer calls later this year.

There are several requirements or Better Together in Teams (like native Teams phone models with Bluetooth support) and some limitations which I've explained in this blog article: http://blog.schertz.name/2021/01/device-pairing-in-microsoft-teams/

The first feature for Better Together which is automatic lock/unlock of the phone when paired to a workstation is now available in the June 2020 client release for IP Phones:

Future Better Together features are planned but no specific details have been provided yet for which features and when they will be made available.

Some clarification here: Microsoft has shared that a "Better Together" feature will come to the Teams IP phones (see Kruthika's post below from August 2019). This will be Bluetooth-based, so there will be no Better Together 'over Ethernet' as that current capability leverages the phone vendor-supplied software clients alongside the Skype for Business client only.

For example while the newer Poly CCX phones support BToE (just like the previous generation VVX) that is only applicable when the phone is in Skype base profile. When it's running in Teams base profile then any PC-to-Phone pairing will be dependent on what Microsoft is developing.

There's no need to vote for this item; dual display support for Teams meetings was added way back in November 2018 with release 4.0.51.0:

FYI this is not a phone-specific issue, and Microsoft has been working on a fix for this on the AA/CQ back-end in Teams.

Timeline was around the end of the year, so could speculate it's not far off. More details can be found here:
