Great performance and user experience remain a topmost priority for us. Application launch time has seen improvements in the recent build. We will continue making improvements across the product including channel to chat switching and overall resource consumption.

I hate to do so but I have to jump on this bandwagon as well.

I use a XeonE5-1650 v3 @ 3.50GHz, 6 Core 12 Logical Processor(s) with 64GB of RAM, PCIe SSD, and a NVidia 2070 Super GPU. Teams UX is too slow by far. I am constantly moving between teams, activities/my feed, private chats, and back again. The click, wait a second or two, load business isn't acceptable to me, its definitely not acceptable to my developers who have used slack in the past, and it most certainly should not be acceptable to Microsoft.

I guess what I am saying is you must raise the urgency of getting off Electron to the highest priority. Teams in my company is becoming the epicenter of everything, but the pain of waiting for screens to load is mentally taxing to the point of disruption which is diametrically opposed to what Teams is for.

I agree this should be an option but even just simply being able to rename dial in numbers to a persons name (or better yet being able to link to a real user) should be in the tooling.

I dont think you need to allow renaming the general channel, after all what would you call it, the team name?? Instead I think the UX should replace "general" with the name of the team (just for the general channel) in labels across the entire teams UX. This or simply make most places where channel name is referenced two lines and include team and channel name. Its upsetting to be a n geneal channel and have no idea for which team at a glance. This is a fairly core issue to the fact Teams themselves are the channel by design. Given how teams is structured, channels (which I teach my users to refer to as sub channels) is a a confusing blight alot of times. We tell our users they are for information management not people management as they dont have tags or membership. I can definitely see how this paralyzes you. You will upset people on ether side with any action, I would simply say renaming of the general channel is a workaround to the core issue which is a lack of clear definition of where you are in the UX based on labels saying "general" focus on that.

I like the left right but some of my users dont. Dont be like apple, give them a choose in the settings ui. Seems a easy thing given its just CSS.

We are happy to announce that the New Conversation Button has started to roll to the general public, and should be rolled out 100% over the next week or so. We will share another update as soon as one is available.

As a side note, I (Teams Admin) provide mandatory training to all new teams owners. There is only 4 things, one of those things is to watch out for out of thread replies. That how serious this is.

This wouldn't be a big deal if you gave us (teams owners) the ability to move a new thread under an existing. It would use date stamp to sort in the thread. This works both ways. It would be great to be able to rip a reply out of a thread and make it its own for times that a side conversation hits critical mass. Please consider. As an owner I dont mind tending to the rock garden that is my team, but I need the tools to do so.

A co-worker had a good idea, allow threads to be migrated as a reply to an existing thread. Click a button on a thread header, lists all recent thread (most recent first) and allows the person to basically would rewrite the thread as replies to the other thread. Doesn't fix the issue directly but at least allows it to be cleaned up.

I am displeased that this went from being released back into the backlog. This can't be that hard to add and its critically important to bootstrapping new teams. Low handing fruit should continue to be developed. Is this yet another thing held up due to an overarching desired to do as little UX work as possible until you dump electron.js for react? Speaking as a Teams IT Admin who is working with far too many developers coming in from Slack land, they are simple blown away with how many small stupid easy to code UX items are simply not up to snuff. Please take time to put some UX polish on all of teams, those with the loudest voices are deeply upset at things they see as easy to add not being done, this being one of them. Still love you and the teams development group but please set aside a percentage of development for the non critical lower hanging fruit things like things.

Its amazing to me just how awesome Teams can be and have a polar opposite like this. This is simply lazy code that should be corrected.

It would be fantastic if any thread (or personal chat) could be flagged for remind me with 1, 4, 8 hours or days plus the ability to set an exact time. My slack users are pointing out they already have this. This would generate a fresh reminder in activities or chats.

I dont really care of you allow this or not but please do put in the UI that you cant do it currently, I dont need users asking me to turn it on only to spend 30 mins finding ALMOST NOTHING related to it and finally just having to guess you cant do encoders with public events.

Listen I hate that private channels exist just as much as you didnt want to put them in but they are here. Not having direct links to posts seems like a massive oversight, please commit to doing something about it. Hopefully this isnt out of spite for not wanting these things in the first place.

yeah there are good reasons to screenshare with one and be on a call with another. Think about your PBX customers that might be dealing with someone from the outside while also working with someone on the inside.

Not only do I want Alpha but I also want order of visit mainly so the current team I am floats to the top. I belong to over 100 teams, there is no using the left pane but yet some of the functionality related to teams and channel management is there. I have to go through settings now which is ideal. So yeah Alpha AND Recent sort options.

As a Teams Admin migrating a few thousands developers into teams this was brought up again. I know there are a lot of priorities but this seems fairly low hanging fruit. Ether do all emojis or at least expand significantly. This isn't the kind of feature I want my developers complaining they dont have. Last update Alex was over a year ago, time to give us an update please.

The ability to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time is supported on iOS & Android today. The feature team is continuing to work on support for multiple accounts on desktop. We’ll keep you posted as we have more details.

Glad to see your turning your attention to it. Organizing by Tenant isn't how people interact. Now that many of my users are using external contacts for the first time they are seeing just how painful it is to explain to a first time external contact how to switch orgs as well god forbid you are the external contact the pain and horror of having to switch orgs is too much. I have been on meetings and needed to switch orgs and could not without disconnecting my call. I bet this is fundamental, that is going to take so much effort, but if you really want teams to continue to grow is must be done and it must be down soon before you miss your window.
