Yay — we’ve started work on this!
The ability to control updates is crucial in a financial institute, as we're governed by many controls and policies - Controlling what versions of software have been deployed into the Enterprise is critical to us.
The ability to turn off emojis is still being worked upon.
Also, there is work to create a compact mode which will also help reduce white space… which in turn will impact some of the complaints are far as wasted space from the emojis as well, that have been voiced in the comments.

Unfortunately we hit some snags and this has moved back to “working on it”. The team is working to make some corrections and I hope to have a release date in the near future. I’ll keep you posted with what I hear.
I'm finding that in one of my tenants there is no suggestions and the ability to search returns 0 results for some users.. At least Public Teams should be made available by Default in some order, then allow the users to browse or search for a particular team. I feel this is what is expected by most users of any Chat tool. Don't try and be to clever about making suggestions, that's all well and good but most users, know what Teams they want to join...
We are still considering this feature for future releases, and will continue to update the status when it changes.
We have a specific buisness requirement for this.. Colleagues across different teams would need to collaborate when performing audits. It doesn't make sense to create a new team for each audit, a separate channel would be the ideal solution.. Archiving the channel once the audit has been completed would clean up the Teams workspace. What's the latest update on this, where is this on the roadmap.. Timescales would be appreciated, so we can feed this back to the business, this would help user adoption, if we can map feature requirements to users cases.
We’re currently working on defining a compact mode experience. I will post more details when we have more to share.
Would be good to put some content around what's changed and the actual difference between compact & normal views - would save a lot of these negative comments
Can you not add some voting buttons to gauge what is the more popular option. I agree with a lot of the comments, that both are really required, but I do favour density over compact.
The free space either side of the conversation needs to be used, ability to collapse the left hand column. A nice feature to add would be the ability to open channels in a new window if you want to keep the focus on that particular conversation, without having the whole window open.. The space can be better utilised this could be delivered as a theme.
We know you are patiently waiting for this feature. This feature is being implemented in stages. Fast tenant switching is currently in testing both internally and with early customers. We expect to release to the public in the Fall. I’ll post an update once it’s rolling out.
Full multi-tenant, multi-user support will be added after fast tenant switching.
This is a requirement within our organisation and something that we've implemented with our legacy Chat app. Users need to accept a usage policy before logging in to the client.. I would like to see this added as a policy that can be applied to a set of users.
