I don't know why the group email is even a part of Planner. Isn't part of the premise of Teams to show how email is obsolete!?
I totally agree that when a comment is added, it should start a conversation in the channel where the Planner resides, and allow the mentioning.
No email should be involved. Ever.
    Thank you!

We acknowledge the customer demand for Private Channels and have been hard at work on it. Private Channels is currently in preview with a select group of customers. We expect to release the feature to the public later this Fall, and will update here when we are starting to roll out to all customers. We appreciate all the feedback you have provided to us on this forum and thank you for your patience.

Another HUGE benefit for a private channel would also resolve the not so nice way we have to handle moving emails with attachments into a Teams space. We have external clients that cannot have access to our entire space, so they have to send us emails with important attachments. If we had a private channel, couldn't we add them into that? And then we eliminate email entirely? We could communicate with them exclusively in Teams...That would be nice.

Why doesn't this show in the O365 Roadmap under "In Development" if it's being worked on?

If we had private channels, this problem would be handled for us. We have external clients NOT in a Team space, so they send in emails with important attachments. They cannot have access to the whole Team space, but if we had a private channel for them, we could do ALL our communication in the channel, and not need email! Wouldn't that be cool....

Hey everyone! We have this already. Just click the ellipses next to the thread name and select “Hide”.

Note that we cannot provide a “hard delete” due to eDiscovery and other legal reasons.

    Thanks,

I totally agree! We are just beginning with Teams, and I make the suggestion on every channel to use a subject on all conversations to keep things clean and organized. Everyone agrees by liking it, and then NO ONE DOES IT! Very frustrating.

I really like the suggestion of creating an alarm on a message, so you come back to it. I’ve passed this on to our engineering team.

Meanwhile, here’s another feature you can utilize for the same purpose — use our “bookmark” button, which is in the upper right corner of every message. This will save that message or thread directly to your profile. To access your saved messages, just click your face in the upper left corner of the product. You’ll see a tab in the left rail that says “Saved.” This is like a list of little reminders.

    Hope that helps! :-)
