This request is still being considered by the feature team but a final decision has not yet been made. I’m still awaiting more details.

This seems like a bad idea. Getting adoption from casual users requires a consistent experience.

A better fix for the UX would be: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/19224826-better-visual-delineation-between-reply-and-sta

if you have an existing post that you want to show in a different channel, you can edit the message and cross-post. This will add the top-level post to the different channel, but will not include the full set of replies. We will keep this request in mind as we evolve the cross-posting feature in the future and update if the status changes.

Details on cross posting can be found here: https://support.office.com/article/cross-post-a-channel-conversation-in-teams-9c1252a3-67ef-498e-a7c1-dd7147b3d295.

As a group that just moved over form Slack, this is a huge frustration. You have to make this intuitive or go home.

Moving "new Conversation" to the top seems like a reasonable way. Might also right-justify it, or make it expand when needed.

Additional: be able to kick a reply out of a thread to make a new thread.
