Due to prioritization of other work-items this has been moved to the backlog. We will update when it is being actively worked on again.
My current workaround is to create a new channel where i would like to move the chat to and then remove team members from the old one. I don't delete the old one until I'm sure people aren't looking for it. Any actions in planner are either recreated or i try to link to the old plan via the new channel. Any Wiki is manually copied.
What I would like:
drag and drop movement of the channel to a different team
old conversations to be preserved
team members able to access the conversation/wiki are changed to be those members of the new team location
planner (if there is a tab) to be linked to from the new location but i can do this manually if needed
other tabs removed and I'll recreate.
i will then update the team members as needed. if you implement channel level membership then i'll update that instead/as well
We are still considering this feature for future releases, and will continue to update the status when it changes.
We acknowledge the customer demand for Private Channels and have been hard at work on it. Private Channels is currently in preview with a select group of customers. We expect to release the feature to the public later this Fall, and will update here when we are starting to roll out to all customers. We appreciate all the feedback you have provided to us on this forum and thank you for your patience.
I agree. I'm looking for:
+ in conversations, for the ability to set a reminder for myself to check I've received a response to a question I've posted. Just like in Outlook. Integration with Outlook reminders would be an additional benefit. It's easy to lose track. Having a flag which can be clicked and the follow-up/action set and assigned would be ideal along with a summary (like in notifications) of all actions on my and those I've asked others to do
+ in conversations, for the ability to assign a task for someone else. e.g. Dear Bob, can you paint the wall by Tuesday.
+ in the wiki, for the ability to assign a task for someone else
+ in the wiki, for the ability to set a reminder for myself. I use the wiki as a repository for meeting minutes (notes) and having actions separately list in planner isn't easy to use. I'd like to set an action in the meeting minutes and then see if it's done or not in those notes.
- we did this
- we did that
- bob do this
- jane do that <-- MS Note has the concept of highlighting and marking for follow up
We’re currently working on defining a compact mode experience. I will post more details when we have more to share.
It's the emailing to the channel that kills me. The email takes half the screen and doesn't say anything! It needs to be much smaller and clickable to show the content. I don't want to read the content of the email in the chat. It's more like a file storage for me. Responses to emails should be in threads as well, not a new thread each time.
