Great performance and user experience remain a topmost priority for us. Application launch time has seen improvements in the recent build. We will continue making improvements across the product including channel to chat switching and overall resource consumption.

Teams is an outrageous resource hog. When I'm running VMware Workstation 15 and MS Teams my machine becomes unusable. Everything is so slow that I can't even type. Teams takes 50% CPU, crazy amounts of RAM, and GPU, and the power use is very high in task manager. This really needs to be addressed. I need the ability to use my computer the way it worked in the past. I need to use Teams for work, but I also need Outlook and VMware Workstation open. I'm running on an i7 CPU with 16GB RAM. When I run Teams and VMware the fans go off like a jet engine and my entire machine slows to a crawl. I can't even mute / unmute myself during a Teams call because the mouse and overall performance are so slow!

Clicking on the join button in an Outlook reminder takes you to the browser to launch Teams today. The work to bypass the browser and directly launch Teams is being worked on. We’ll update when we have more details.
