Please? Where is this function? It's utterly annoying that I can see either chats or contacts. Having a curated contact list in a separate window is really important as it gives you a quick and easy indication of the status of your most relevant contacts. Actively hiding the contact list in a dual use section of the UI (chat *or* contacts) is about as bad as one can make it.

It's really sad. Sometimes I wonder if the people making the UI decisions have even the slightest clue about how people work.

The engineering team is continuing to work on adding support for multiple accounts on desktop clients. We will first launch support for 1 work/school account and 1 personal account so users can enjoy Teams for work and personal side-by-side. Windows and MacOS. Support for multiple work accounts is still being worked on and will come at a later date.

You can track status via the roadmap here: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?searchterms=68845.

    Thanks!

we have this!  ·  Warren responded

You can create add a hyperlink to any text, which will allow you to avoid massive links being copied into the chat/channels.
Expand the compose box by clicking the icon “A” with a pencil just below your compose line. Once in the expanded view you can create a link by clicking the icon that looks like a chain at the top of the compose box.

You can also highlight your text and use this function to change your selected text into a hyperlink. Once the hyperlink dialog opens update the link location and modify your text if you so desire.

This request is about doing it the right way not having the user work around a design flaw.

So no, you don't "have this".

The links created by Teams and Sharepoint are just horrible. I don't so much mind the length of the links. If it was just a plain URL which would give a clear indication on path, a longer link would actually have a meaning and provide value. The way they are now, they might be a technical necessity being out in the open destroying user experience.

This feature is utterly useless. Just now, a team I was actively working in yesterday was automatically moved to hidden.

I have no idea what criteria is being used to automatically hide teams. It's certainly not activity since teams one was actively using just a few hours ago would not be hidden.

Please Microsoft Developers. Do think before you implement automation that is disturbing workflow. An if you think you have to make things "smart", do provide an option to the user to say no.

try this instead  ·  Suphatra responded

Currently we have Teams defaulted to show you the first (up to five) channels ever created. If you want to add more channels to your left rail view, just click the ellipses next to the channel name and select “Favorite”. When you favorite the channel, it will then be “pinned” to your left rail under that team name.

Try that and let me know if that meets your needs!

2,5 years in and the sidebar is still as unusable as it always was. This is really sad.

I can only second this request. Favorites are a different functionality. Yes, they might work as a workaround but seeing all channels at a glance helps a lot with navigation.

This is important. The web apps in their current form are
    - slow
    - unsuitable but for the simplest of documents.
    - very reduced in terms of functionality

They get in the way of serious work and break workflow.

Once support for Windows 10 native notifications is released, users who choose to use Windows notifications will be able to utilize Windows OS specific settings for the length of time to display notifications. Mac does not have an OS specific setting, so will not have the support.

This item is still under review by the feature team. I have no details as to when a decision might happen.

Thank you for your feedback! We are updating this as “Partialy Done” as our first step to solving for pinned posts has been released! Pinned posts allows users from a team to pin a message for everyone in the channel to be able to easily reference. While any message can be pinnable, we expect our users to use this feature to pin information like channel guidelines or important announcements. We know this doesn’t solve all pinning scenarios, and that there is still a need to make this easier for users to find, especially within the message list. We will share another update as soon as it is available.

I can only agree. This is really important. I only have 15 or so channels in 3 teams so far but it's already quite a chore to identify activity in channels when I'm not explicitly notified.

As Saxet mentioned this is somewhat expected behaviour and should be implemented similar to the unread message count in Outlook.
