We acknowledge the demand for this capability and are exploring the best possible solutions to enable this.
Integration with Skype Consumer is no longer under review, and officially planned.

Updating this topic to reflect that the focus is now on the additional search functionality since the other pieces of the original request have been completed.
Here is the originally summary below:
Items 2, 3, 4, and 5 have been completed and released.
1) universal search function for files, messages, chats, and groups
2) directly send invite to join teams, instead of chat only option
3) ability to create new team, project, or group
4) view calendar/schedule inside app
Thanks to everyone who volunteered for testing the Office 365 group calendar. The TAP team will be reaching out as we are closer to being ready.
I am in the High Tech Semiconductor distribution business. We span more than 10 countries and you can only imagine the employees size, so I would like to have the opportunity to test this before it becomes "Cast in stone".
Hi There. I seriously think Microsoft should provide an option for "group chats" (defined as more than 2 users in a chat) and enable the original creator of the chat, to boot someone out.
There are many use cases why this is so:
1. When team members leave a team and work in a different focus group
2. When employees transfer to another subsidary
3. When there is an abusive participant and needs to be booted
If Microsoft truly only wanted to limit the group admin functions to teams, then I would suggest you just Disable the group private chat function, and keep it 1-to-1.
As TEAMS transitions into a full fledged client having full features of Skype4Biz in Q4 2018/Q1 2019, imagine calling a conferencing by pressing the "call button" in the group chat. This then becomes that "Group conference" function, but lacks the full function of skype4biz where conference calls have a presenter, and a participant segregation.
This chat function is not a simple after thought, and should not be treated as such.
Since Microsoft is serious about being on-par, and BETTER than #SLACK because of the full integration of Skype4Biz into the Teams client, then it should deliver as intended, and not limit the way Enterprise and organisations work, but be fluid and Evolve their application together.
Sorry for the delay on an update on this one! I’m hunting down the status for you and will update once I have it.
Also, if you are interested in participating in testing or surveys for this, just tweet me at @skprufo.
