Hello everyone, a quick update on our work to integrate Teams Assignments with the Microsoft Calendar - its coming! We’ll provide an update shortly with dates. We know this has been a top request for some time and there is a team working on bringing this to Teams for EDU as soon as we can.

I hope that you are making this option to be based on the assigned license type, i.e. student license. If teachers and students are in the same organization, your options do not do much to restrict students from starting the meeting. Student License users should stay in the lobby while faculty license users should be able to start the meeting, print meeting list and end the meeting.

Will this feature allow for video meetings in private channels to observe testing students in pop-out windows? I am looking to be able to have students (one per private channel or breakout room when it becomes available)) to test in a proctored manner using meeting pop-outs.

@justin chando Does the formative assessment that is shown in the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HD8H0-RGh9k) work for teams meetings chat? I have tried to get it to work, but it would not recognize the forms bot format shown in the video you referenced.
If we could use the forms bot, we could create polls in advance and paste them in the meeting chat. If that would be possible, could we still see the answer results in Forms to see who answered what?

Thank you for the feedback and waiting for this feature with patience. We have enabled download of a meeting attendance list during a meeting. This is released for general availability. Please note this feature is turned off by default, and needs to be enabled via admin policy.

See documentation for this feature here: https://support.office.com/article/download-attendance-reports-in-teams-ae7cf170-530c-47d3-84c1-3aedac74d310

Note: We are continuing to work on enabling download after a meeting has concluded, as well.

    Thanks.

I was able to download after the meeting for one day. Then it went away. Bottom line is, this is not going to work unless we can assign more than one organizer. Currently, I have to access the meeting as the organizer (meeting creator) and stay in the meeting (class) the whole full day session, then grab the report at the end of class. If I leave the session (internet hiccup, power outage or some other way), the list re-starts when the organizer re-enters.

Just had a conversation about this with a colleague about the possibility that a faculty member (not one of the instructors) could take it upon them self to prematurely remove a student from a team. I totally agree the additional limited role.

Thanks to everyone who has voted on this. The team is making progress to ensure we have a safe and secure way to allow teachers to “hard mute” students during a meeting. We will share more details as we have them.

Been waiting for this in education but disappointed in how it is lacking. For Education, Files and content being missing is a major missing component. I my environment, each Program cohort has its own Team. Each Team has multiple learning modules (channel). Each Channel Has its own teachers with their own developed class notebooks and teaching resources (from pre-Teams). Cohorts from the same program share many resources and now we will need to replicate them manually instead of being able to indicate during the template build whether or not we want to include them in the template.
Ideally, having the optional ability for each Channel (learning module) to have its own class grade book , having assignments separated by channel (instead of all assignments in instructor view being in one pool) would be much desired. MS should not be thinking that each instructor has their own team for every class taught. MS should not think that instructors create teams. End meeting only happens when the organizer (scheduler/team creator) ends the meeting. Designated Presenter/Instructor should be able to End the meeting. Also only meeting organizer/scheduler can get the attendance report. The burden on the instructors for reporting class attendance has not changed. The class organizer/scheduler should be able to designate additional organizer/presenters (instructors).
This announcement is not adequate - Create teams quickly with Templates in Microsoft Teams - https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/create-teams-quickly-with-templates-in-microsoft-teams/bc-p/1411628#M5663
