This is definitely something we need. It is a ways away from any move to a multi-geo tenant for our organization given work that needs to be done and our continuance of acquiring companies and the process before integrating them into the company. This will allow so much collaboration that is lacking in a multi-tenant setting when there are a small # of tenants that are part of the enrolment and organization so shouldn't be seen as "external".
Hey Microsoft Teams users — I want you to weigh in on new features around channels and group chats. The engineering team and I have put together this survey to find out how you want to see channels improve. You can fill it out here: https://microsoft.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_esTxHdABLQxKLvn
And I’m still waiting on approval to get you a good update about Private Channels. I can say that we ARE working on it, fervently.
Of the two items in this request, #1 is complete and available.
- is still in the works.
This is part of the convergence roadmap – https://skypeandteams.blob.core.windows.net/artefacts/Skype%20for%20Business%20to%20Teams%20Capabilities%20Roadmap.pdf
As more details become available for item #2 I will share them with you.

This is definitely big for us. We tried to add those who are not sitting in our tenant (on-prem environment using QCS to share free/busy and GAL) as well as, a separate tenant (same company too) using QCS too to federate. This federation we have has not allowed us to add these users as guest, even though they are part of our company.
Still in the works, no additional details are available yet.
