The feature team is still reviewing, there is lots of discussion about this item and I hope to have a decision soon.
This suggestion is still planned. I don’t have further updates on timing, but will share as we have them. Thanks.
Item 1 and 2 are Under Review.
Item 3 has been Completed.
I’ll keep you posted as I hear more on this request.
First... this is not a stupid thing. I think it is essential so that long conversations don't make you scroll like crazy. Please use the search feature.
Regarding the 'hiding', I think you can make the hiding more obvious by drawing a BOLD outline to the non-hidden messages and a dotted outline to indicate a continuation of the conversation.
This is in the works! Fill out this survey if you want to influence the feature: https://microsoft.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_esTxHdABLQxKLvn
We have been iterating on different designs and are starting to test internally. I don’t have a timeframe but will keep you posted.
Highlighting the recent unnoticed replies with a glowing background should be good I guess.
In the comments, some have suggested for 'reply to conversation' be default. I think this would be wrong assumption. Depending on what type of team, work and chat-group you have, conversations may not be as frequent as independent messages to the group.
Due to a priority shift we need to move this one onto the backlog again.
I’ll keep you posted once we can pick up the forward momentum again.
This will be a nice feature. I figure it is similar to setting rules for emails in outlook. As an extension, I would also ask to keep the notification for messages tagging me on the screen till I click any of pending notifications.
