    Thank you for your reports. We released client and service updates this week, that address many MacOS-specific performance issues. We are also aware of recent performance issues with Microsoft Teams meetings, especially on laptops and when using external monitors.

    The team is working to resolve these issues. In the meantime, please find troubleshooting information here:

    I have been having the same problem with Teams and Big Sur on a Mac Pro 15". I am using two external monitors. Looking at Activity Monitor, it was clear that memory and CPU were getting slammed every time I ran Teams - up from 9% to 90%. In particular, the kernel_task was sucking up huge amounts of both - my laptop was literally overheating to the point where I had to get an additional cooler (and close everything but Teams) just to be able to attend a meeting.
