Agree! Your are 100% correct on this one.
I agree. The inability of students to enter their own data into the Teams calendar is a big drawback for us. We, too, have stopped using paper planners. Requiring students to use two digital planners: Teams and Outlook, is just inefficient. My thought is that they will balk at this duplication of effort. Teams is great, but the calendar needs to interact with the Outlook calendar for it to be truly great.
Agree! Assignments should appear in the Outlook Calendar just like they did in the old MS Classroom. This way students can better manage their time and set goals. As it is now, students cannot enter data into the Teams calendar, which makes it difficult to use for planning how to use time. Also, using two calendars is just inefficient.
Agree! Plus, as it is now, students cannot enter their own notes to themselves in the Teams Calendar. For example, how is a student to write a reminder to themselves to study in Teams? In order to do this, they would have to use the Outlook Calendar, which they would have to manually populate with data from the Teams Assignment Calendar. If the calendars were more integrated, then students could better prioritize all of their assignments and activities in one place
Teaching Time Management, Goal Setting, and Achievement Through Steady, Persistent Work Is Often an Important Part of What Teachers Teach Students To Do. The Inability of Students to Enter Their Own Reminders to "Study" in the Assignments Calendar Is A Problem, Since they Will Need to Enter These Notes To Themselves In the Outlook Calendar...A Different and Unrelated APP. I Am Concerned about This Because My School Has Done Away With the Paper Academic Planner. I Teach Study Skills to Students Who Struggle In HS. At This Point, Teaching Time Management to Adolescents Through Teams and Outlook Does Not Look Efficient Or Likely To Succeed. I Have Also Looked Over the Related Time Management APPS for Students in the Store, and I Don't Think They Will Work With Our Block Schedule. They Are Also Laborious To Set Up.
Agree! The Teams calendar and the Outlook calendar need to be integrated, so a user does not have to use two calendars.
Agree! The Teams calendar and the Outlooks Calendar need to be integrated.
This is still being worked upon. I hope to have more details in the next couple months.
