Do we have an update on this? The last response I see is from 2018, nearly 2.5 years ago.
We love MS Teams but the absence of a "new message count" indicator on the dock menu (either a red icon like chat or similar) is making it difficult for us to get our teams to adopt Channels. With our smart phones, tablets, pcs and related apps, we have been trained to look for those indicators. When not available, conversations are missed. Although there is a bold new message indicator when on the Teams section, when you move to the Chat section (where the vast majority of people live), there is no indicator outside of notifications that there is any new communication.
