We’re currently working on defining a compact mode experience. I will post more details when we have more to share.
Still can't read more than 3-4 lines on screen at a time, even less if there are any hyperlinks or threaded discussions.
Every demo I've seen with Teams uses it fullscreen and it's still a bloated mess.
I've already allocated a third of my screen to teams and it won't ever get any more real estate from me.
Same frustrations as many others; company O365 licenses forced an incomplete and inferior product down our throats.
Still haven't seen a difference and can't see more than two or three comments in a given window being that I don't want my chat client using a full screen. This is contrast to the 16-20ish I can get with IRC and Slack given the same space constraints.
This is in internal testing. I don’t have exact timing for you, but wanted to let you know it is coming!
I’m going to close this thread out with a Thank you!

We are getting closer… the team is almost ready to rollout MacOS notification support internally for testing – we hope to have it to the public by the end of this quarter.
On Mac you can slide the notification offscreen to dismiss it, seems to have been designed exclusively for tablet convenience.
Feature request is still being worked upon.
Similar behavior is observed when copy/pasting from Skype.
Thank you so much for your support of the product. This request was particularly helpful and we appreciate your engagement in the surveys, comments and forum to help us design this feature. Please continue to submit ideas!
For this item, we’re making great progress. It has now entered TAP validation with a small group of tenants. Will let you know how that goes!
This is something I've seen in a number of Windows applications doing lately. Pretty much every stock application in Windows 10 wants to reset to default settings or re-add an icon where I explicitly removed it after an update.
This feature item is still in the works. We will keep you posted as we have new info from the feature team.
This is basic functionality and the fact that the developers didn't consider it or seem to understand what people want to see is embarrassing.
