We are happy to share that Electron 10 is rolling out to the public ring now, so you should notice improvements. We expect overall performance of Teams to improve even further with upcoming fixes around the calling and meeting features We will share another update as soon as we are able to.

In the space of 12 months the Teams client has gone from a (failry) nimble, focussed app to a bloated, plodding monster. Just basic tasks like moving between Calendar and Chat can take 5-10 seconds. In the age where users expect instant gratification this is simply not good enough.
Thank you for your continued feedback. We are continuously improving the clients to use less memory and RAM.
The upgrade to Electron 10 has rolled out fully to the public at this point. Telemetry and testing has shown that this is helping to improve memory performance on the client.
We will continue to work on improvements, and will share more updates as they become available.

This feature is still in the works. There was some adjustments to the overall strategy.
