We are still considering this feature for future releases, and will continue to update the status when it changes.
Due to prioritization of other work-items this has been moved to the backlog. We will update when it is being actively worked on again.
This item is still under consideration by the feature team.
This feature request has moved to the planning stage. There have also been several small updates that have gone out already, as well.
I’ll keep you posted as I hear more about coming updates.
This is currently in internal testing rings at Microsoft, and the feature team is targeting a release to the public in early Q2.

This feature request is still on in the backlog. No new updates available at this time.
This feature is still being reviewed by the feature team. No decision has been made yet. I’ll keep you posted.
The feature team is still reviewing, there is lots of discussion about this item and I hope to have a decision soon.
I think the underlying issue being addressed here is adoption. Most of us are not working in Microsoft Teams all day. We're working in Outlook, or Salesforce or some other tool. Email is critical, so either we need better functionality for setting up email notifications from MS Teams (so I know when to go into it) or the functionality to shift my reliance on Outlook into Teams. It seems much easier to just address the email notification issue.
