Adding any emoji as a reaction remains under review.
I am marking this as partially done to let you know a new reactions bar with Like, Heart, Laugh, Surprised, Sad, and Angry has begun rolling out to all users.

This is still under review, no decision has been made. But I will keep following up with the feature team and providing them your feedback.

I agree! Instead of simply going to the chat, it should go to the found message IN CONTEXT. My biggest complains with Teams are (1) can't save out chats, and (2) can't delete old junk. Therefore this "Go to Chat" weakness is a symptom of those. If I could clean out old junk, I wouldn't need to scroll up through months of junk to find what I'm looking for. And being able to save out chats is a predecessor to me being ready to delete old junk. If these can't be implemented first, then "Go to Chat" should be user friendly enough to "Go to Chat in Context of Found Message".

If there were other ways to get conversations out, then I wouldn't need to copy out of Teams. For example, there are other feedback topics and conversations automatically syncing to "Conversation History" in Outlook. That would be great! Or maybe a "Save" option. I want a way to get specific conversations out, to save them into my non-Microsoft project system, similar to how I could "Save as Email" and attach into TFS Projects at my old company that had more Microsoft products.
And then, when conversations are out, I want them gone from Teams, not endless history of junk that makes the search experience worse the more gets piled in there.Ryan supported this idea ·

Thank you for your votes and comments on this feature. The team is in the process of finalizing designs for deleting private chat threads. I will update as we have more progress to share.

For organizations that need call recording for compliance purposes, admins can set via policy. To see how this works for calling and meetings, please see https://docs.microsoft.com/MicrosoftTeams/teams-recording-policy.
1:1 convenience recording is currently on the teams backlog. We will share an updated here as soon as it is available.

The other benefits of saving to "Conversation History" is (1) I can click Reply, and add other users to broaden the scope of the conversation. I haven't found how to do this in Teams. (2) the .msg file can be uploaded to project management applications to tie project conversations to projects (non-Microsoft apps, like Redmine). Teams makes it difficult to get anything out. I can CTRL+C one response at a time, which is alright if I only want one, but too time consuming if I want to extract a longer conversation. Or I can screenshot multiple responses, but then it's an image, which takes up more space, and not text-searchable.

2005 Communicator had this, and so did its successors Lync and SFB, the messages could be saved as emails, and then forwarded from there. I see Teams not having this as a "bug" that needs to be fixed.
