The link in the comment provided is from the old admin center. Now with the new Team admin center the Chat disable function is gone.
You can set this with Powershell. But this effect all the students, not groups etc.
So please add within the classteams the option to enable, or disable chat.
Give the teacher the tool to arrange his virtual class.

yess indeed. This look easy. the policy is there, but not the option to set this for a group. Now white the help from support and powershell the chat is off for ALL student. But we got older students where we want to use the chat. Now this is not possible. Please add group as an option

URGENT!!!!! please this is realy needed. we are completly in the cloud with Microsoft 365 education with Teams sync with SDS and 300 ipad that does not get to there learning matrials.

if you need testers. School 1031 students and 131 teachers and we have got Roostersync active. So al the students and teacher got there class schedule in outlook calender.
So this option is realy needed
Thanks for the feedback and support on this one. We definitely understand the need. The team is currently reviewing how we can increase the file upload size here.
As a workaround in the meantime, perhaps you can have students submit a link to the file stored on their personal OneDrive.
The feature team is still reviewing, there is lots of discussion about this item and I hope to have a decision soon.
