We acknowledge the customer demand for Private Channels and have been hard at work on it. Private Channels is currently in preview with a select group of customers. We expect to release the feature to the public later this Fall, and will update here when we are starting to roll out to all customers. We appreciate all the feedback you have provided to us on this forum and thank you for your patience.
From the announcement in March linked below...
"Later this year" which could be in 9 months (when posted) which is about as useful as saying it'll launch soon™
Pretty much all we're looking for here is communication!
@Alex If Microsoft is ending/reducing support for uservoice as a user/customer feedback tool can we at least get an announcement? Progress of fixing these issues seems to have slowed lately.
Almost a month since the last update. Can we expect another vague update about how you're "working on it" this week?
Microsoft Teams: We're Working on it™
It's disappointing that, despite the fact Suphatra is no longer at Microsoft, almost all of the admin responses to top voted for features are still from her.
I guess it was sudden and you just haven't hired a replacement YET?
I just did the survey. For this question:
How likely are you to merge two conversation threads into a single conversation thread?
Can we get an "I need this now" option?
Also, I now have semantic satiation with 'likely'.
Likely likely likely unlikely likely likely. It doesn't mean anything anymore!
Adding any emoji as a reaction remains under review.
I am marking this as partially done to let you know a new reactions bar with Like, Heart, Laugh, Surprised, Sad, and Angry has begun rolling out to all users.
The feature request was for ANY emoji, not a subset that was chosen by a teenager instead of someone in a professional working environment.
Please add to the comments if you are experiencing this. I would like to know the OS and device you are using as well.
I’ll bring this feedback to the feature team and help get this investigated.
In Teams, the shortcut is Shift+Enter. Try that — it should create a linebreak for you.
Also, you can always just click the little “A” in the compose box (on the lower left side of the compose box) to expand the compose box, and this turns the “Enter” key into a line break.
Hi folks, we are collecting feedback on this so we can determine prioritization and user need.
Please comment in the thread below about how this affects you, how you currently add members, and who you think would benefit from this in your organization.
Can we get an update from someone who still works at Microsoft? Suphatra left.
I often get sent a collection of email addresses from various domains in a comma or semi-colon separated list. I just want to be able to copy and paste this list once, instead of having to copy and paste every single email individually.
Generate link doesn't solve this (AFAIK) for guest or external users, only users already in your AAD.
We communicate via email with external parties during project acquisition and then invite them to our Teams and AAD, but this is often quite a list...
The feature team is still discussing this suggestion. No decision has been made yet, but I’ll keep you posted.

The team is still reviewing this item. I hope to know of a decision soon.
I'm here because I expected this to be supported already, but this is where my search led me.

Thank you all very much for the great response. The survey is now closed. The feature team will be reviewing all the data that was gathered and responded based on the findings.
Again, thank you for helping us make Microsoft Teams the best it can be.
This feature is being worked upon and I hope to have more details to share in the coming months.
Coming soon, TurnItIn subscribers will have access to use TurnItIn directly within Teams Assignments!
