It's marked as Q4 2020 on the roadmap and that's only if it isn't delayed. I really think you should push this up the list so it's ready for the start of the September academic year (so Q3).

This is a far more important feature than more simultaneous video feeds that so many people have upvoted.

try this instead  ·  Warren responded

Updating the status to “Try this instead” and have added the clarification that after 30 days the name is once again available.

The reason for this decision was that Channels can be restored 30 days after being deleted. During this time, we intentionally don’t support creating a channel with the same name. After the 30 days, the name is available.

You can workaround this by restoring a deleted channel, renaming it, and then deleting the channel again. The previous name is then available for use.

This workaround has already been mentioned in the comments and if an immediate reuse of a Channel Name is required, this is the recommended solution.

Thank you for the feedback and waiting for this feature with patience. We have enabled download of a meeting attendance list during a meeting. This is released for general availability. Please note this feature is turned off by default, and needs to be enabled via admin policy.

See documentation for this feature here: https://support.office.com/article/download-attendance-reports-in-teams-ae7cf170-530c-47d3-84c1-3aedac74d310

Note: We are continuing to work on enabling download after a meeting has concluded, as well.

    Thanks.

Thanks to everyone who has voted on this. The team is making progress to ensure we have a safe and secure way to allow teachers to “hard mute” students during a meeting. We will share more details as we have them.

Hi everyone, the engineer working on this item has left the company and we’re working on replacing him. I wanted to give you that heads up because the work has paused, which extends our shipping date.

I really appreciate your patience as we work to get this back to actively worked on.

I’m excited to announce that a new Large Gallery view, with the ability to see up to 49 participant in a meeting, is coming soon to Teams! Large Gallery will release as an optional (preview) feature that can be turned on at any time during a meeting. Large Gallery has a flexible design and will deliver a network-optimized client video experience that works on multiple device categories. During the preview, the Large Gallery experience will be available for desktop Teams client on both Windows & Mac, as well as for mobile Teams client (iOS, Android) users.

You can read more about Large gallery view, as well as the new Together mode feature, here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/what-s-new-in-microsoft-teams-june-2020/ba-p/1489142.

Large Gallery will begin rolling out with the new pop-out meetings experience for desktop clients in early July, and we are targeting full availability including mobile clients for iOS and Android by early September.

@Peter Horak You don't need more video feeds to see if someone's raising their hand, you need this feature that's in testing now https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/35262385-add-a-raise-your-hand-feature-in-meetings

I still agree that for every situation but K-12 education (useful to judge class engagement), adding more video feeds is a bad solution. If more than 4 people are talking at once, can you understand any of them? If not, it'll show the talking people.

All adding more video feeds does is distracts from the people who are talking. Despite this they are still working on adding more feeds, to bend to popular opinion. I'm certainly not going to ever use more than 3x3.

While I accept that there's some limited cases where having all feeds on the screen would be an improvement, that's not true in most professional settings. It shows the four most recent speakers and when "raise hand" feature is added, there's even less need.

Gallery view *looks* cool but is functionally stupid. You're just giving a bunch of things for people to be distracted by and shrinking the feed of the active speaker. If it's for personal use, whatever, just use Zoom or something else. I'm smh at people switching to Zoom for professional use because of this.

@Everyone: Why do you want this feature? What is the use other than distracting you from relevant feeds? Teams shows the most recent speakers and if more than 4 people are speaking at once you'll have a bad time.
Also, the feature they're talking about implementing here will be 3x3 only.

Thank you for your continued feedback. As many people have pointed out, this is available on mobile today. Support for replying to a specific message is on the backlog for desktop. I’ll let you know when we have progress to share. Thanks.

Thanks again for your feedback on this. The team has begun working on an option requiring everyone other than the meeting organizer to go thru the lobby. We will continue to evaluate our best option to release with increased priority.

If, in addition to a per meeting control, you are looking for admin level control to prevent students from starting any meeting or any calls without educators present, and want to apply this control regardless of whether a meeting organizer remembers to change the lobby option, please vote on this UV item – https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/599053/suggestions/39962347
