This feature is still in the planning stage. No new updates are available at this time.
Hi everyone, I wanted to check in on this ask because it’s died down since GA, and also because the ask is not totally clear to me.
Right now, we provide a way during the team creation process for you to select an existing Office 365 group. Are you asking to be able to do this same thing, but outside of Teams?
Do let me know!
This feature request is still working its way through the backlog queue.

This would be nice to have a option to control this limit and/or increase it globally across teams. We are potentially looking at teams as our sole document storage/collaboration structure to migrating from our network would be painful.
This feature request is now on the backlog.
I’ll keep you posted as we move through development!

We are currently piloting teams with a select department and this topic was brought up as a nice-to-have. The current work around is to manually create a folder structure and drop the files in it which is time consuming for the user. The folder structure is required since they are uploading content that depends on a hierarchical location for a particular file i.e. root/images.
Due to prioritization of other work-items this has been moved to the backlog. We will update when it is being actively worked on again.
We’re currently working on defining a compact mode experience. I will post more details when we have more to share.
