We are getting closer… the team is almost ready to rollout MacOS notification support internally for testing – we hope to have it to the public by the end of this quarter.
The bonkers thing is that a Teams Notification sits behind any System Notification making it unreadable and potentially impossible to interact with.
This item is still under consideration by the feature team.
Chiming in as well. On Mac, the Teams Alerts and System Notifications don't play together well. The pop up sits behind any system Notifications that are top right on the screen. Not being able to read an alert is annoying. Not being able to accept a call or chat is frustrating.
This item is still in the queue. I’m still awaiting more feedback and hope to have more details to share soon.
Like in the SharePoint web page, I'd like to see a simple 'Sync' button in the row that already includes New, Upload, Get Link, Open in SharePoint, Add cloud storage.
If it were really polished, there would be a pop up for users on their first visit to the Files tab offering this (and maybe a link to install the modern ODB client?).

The feature team has declined this request due to the fact that a similar experience already exists.
You can achieve very similar functionality with the existing integration. The OneNote integration has been redesigned so that you can add an entire notebook as a channel tab, but always show a particular section (be it new or existing). Within each tab, you can also create other sections as well as pages within any section to better organize your notes.
Thank you for your feedback and suggestions.
The snag with adding many OneNotes to a Channel is the OneNote itself gets cluttered with with them and all the other channels. Dropping into a OneNote Section Group would be a great answer.
Alternative implementation? Enable editing the OneNote link in the tab.
