Adding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:

    - Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook

    - Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams

    - Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook

See this post for more information:

    Thanks!

My big question about this is would you use Outlook Online so that you could get to Archive and have content in the cloud be in affect or would it be an addon of an Outlook that is on desktop that should not (hopefully) cache up and kill performance? I am for the tab, but really have to look at the interaction of the app and what it does to a machine.

Great performance and user experience remain a topmost priority for us. Application launch time has seen improvements in the recent build. We will continue making improvements across the product including channel to chat switching and overall resource consumption.

we have this!  ·  Suphatra responded

Hi everyone — here’s some clarity on our legal compliance.

As of now, Chat history for a Team is stored infinitely and available for eDiscovery/Content Search. So, the answer to your question depends on what you mean by closing the project. If you close the project, but don’t kill the Office 365 Group/Team associated with, everything should be still searchable. You should be able to recall/search for all chat activity that happened within the Team by scoping your compliance content search to the appropriate group mailboxes. The data is not lost.

Please let me know if you have any other questions! You can post a message here or tweet me @skprufo.

    Thanks,
    Suphatra

Teams with the existing SharePoint sites needs to be available to the Discovery center, the compliance policies as well.

    1. My experience brought me to a prompt to create a team. The problem was, I didn't want to create a team, I was wanting to login and look around to see the home, to see what Public groups existed already. The first point should not be to create, then you get immediate trash sites. Sites that people name as themselves or random trash because they think they have to create a site to collaborate in Teams, but are really unsure what the process is and will follow the largest text on the screen.

For those (90% I would say) of people who work in applications never ever deal with security. One of the top issues that exist is the lack of cohesiveness with administrative support and Teams. Admins unable to have access unless they change the process and force people to wait for a site creation. Admins should be back end automatically applied. This is the biggest security malfunction I have ever seen with Office 365 and screams that this went out too soon. How can a user experience be good when their own Admins can't assist? What could be great is turning south quickly.

This is needed, including permission levels. As an admin I can't get to any of the channels to audit, modify, assist. I can't see the SharePoint sites etc. Currently this is an Admin nightmare. I love the idea of teams with the SharePoint site, but also have questions... are these site collections or just a site in a collection etc?
