Sort should have been a default. Teams list otherwise are a cluttered disorganized mess.

This ability is FAR more important than having 20 live webcam feeds in a meeting.

I’m excited to announce that a new Large Gallery view, with the ability to see up to 49 participant in a meeting, is coming soon to Teams! Large Gallery will release as an optional (preview) feature that can be turned on at any time during a meeting. Large Gallery has a flexible design and will deliver a network-optimized client video experience that works on multiple device categories. During the preview, the Large Gallery experience will be available for desktop Teams client on both Windows & Mac, as well as for mobile Teams client (iOS, Android) users.

You can read more about Large gallery view, as well as the new Together mode feature, here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/what-s-new-in-microsoft-teams-june-2020/ba-p/1489142.

Large Gallery will begin rolling out with the new pop-out meetings experience for desktop clients in early July, and we are targeting full availability including mobile clients for iOS and Android by early September.

That will only decrease response time by simulcasting web cam videos. All we need to see is a shared desktop or a presentation.
I can live without the vanity features.

Tell your IT Dept to use Live Meetings instead of a regular meeting and everyone will come in muted. They won't even be able to speak, moderated chats will only be available.

try this instead  ·  Suphatra responded

Currently we have Teams defaulted to show you the first (up to five) channels ever created. If you want to add more channels to your left rail view, just click the ellipses next to the channel name and select “Favorite”. When you favorite the channel, it will then be “pinned” to your left rail under that team name.

Try that and let me know if that meets your needs!
